Red Robin’s Burnin’ Love Burger

Are you guys Lucky or What? Two Reviews in one day. Lori wanted to go to Red Robin since she is starting The WSEM Foodstamp Challenge Tomorrow. I looked online to see if they had any New Burgers and sure enough they did. ”You’ll get fired up for the crispy-fried jalapeño rings, tangy salsa, and spicy Pepper-Jack cheese layered on top of our cayenne-seasoned beef burger. It’s topped with shredded lettuce and tomato to cool things off and served on a jalapeño-cornmeal Kaiser roll with Chipotle mayo.”
First Impression: This bad boy sounds awesome, and when they brought it out it looked awesome. The Bun has a slight green tinge from the jalapeño-cornmeal Kaiser roll.
First Bite: was super juicy and delicious. The fried jalapeño rings were ok but they weren’t very hot. The Pepper-Jack cheese was so melted I could barely even tell it was on the burger. After a few bites this burger turned into a mess to eat but I enjoyed every second of it. I never put the burger down once I started eating it and I ate it pretty fast.
Complaints: the jalapeño-cornmeal Kaiser roll seemed really salty to me. The fried jalapeño rings could have been a little hotter. Red Robin burgers are little on the expensive side. $9.29 for this one.
Conclusion: This was one of the best burgers I’ve had at Red Robin and I’ve had almost all of them. I would rate this burger an 8/10. A Little Less salt and a little more flavor on the jalapeño rings and this becomes a 9/10 burger. I would highly Recommend the Burnin’ Love Burger.
Subway Buffalo Chicken Review
I love Buffalo Chicken Sammiches. I love Subway. When I first saw the commercials I figured oh hellz yea thats going to be good. Then I thought about what subways chicken is like. Little tiny strips not a big juicy breast. This is where I figured the downfall would be. I remember MillerTyme224 saying she had one and didn’t like it this reinforeced the idea that I would not enjoy them. I then saw MiniMaura say she had one and loved it. Well today I didn’t bring a lunch and I decided I had’t had any subways in a while. When I was waiting in line EVERYONE was ordering the Buffalo Chicken. I said what the heck I’ll try anything once. Here is what I got on mine:
1 FootLong Buffalo Chicken on Italian
Montery Cheddar cheese
TOASTED
Lettuce, Tomato and Banana peppers
Ranch Dressing
First Impression:
Chicken Quality was sub par as I expected.
First Taste:
The chicken texture was a bit off on the first bite, it also didn’t have the zing I was looking for in my Buffalo Chicken Sauces. This might be attributed to the mass amounts of Bread,Lettuce, and Ranch Dressing Ratio to Buffalo Sauce. The Buffalo “glaze” just wasn’t enough to over power all of the other ingredients.
Final Impressions:
Normally I only eat 1/2 a sammich and save the rest for later but today I was pretty hungry so I ate the whole thing. I didn’t really feel any heat until maybe the last bite but even then it wasn’t anything to write home about. Too little too late sums it up pretty nicely.
Conclusion:
I would rate Subways Buffalo Chicken sammich a 6/10.
It could have been a lot worse and it wasn’t as bad as I had expected. I’ve had some really really good chicken sammiches and this wouldn’t make the top 15. I bet if they would add more Buffalo sauce they could really turn the sammich around. I also thought that maybe if I told them to add the Chipotle Sauce instead of the Ranch sauce it might also kick it up a notch. If you are a fan of the spice that normally comes with a Buffalo Sauce I would say try it but go in not expecting to be wowed.
